Flow Pacing For Chemical Dosing |
Small amounts of critical additives must be injected into certain process and auxiliary streams in a chemical plant to improve the process or reduce maintenance. These agents are typically Anti-Foamers, Surfactants, Anti-Scalers, Corrosion Inhibitors, Chlorinators and Sulfonators. These chemicals are highly engineered and very expensive. Too little of the additive and they will not function correctly. Too much additive is inefficient and costly. Ideally, the additive injection should be automatic and paced to the process or feed stream flow rate.
THE BROOKS SOLUTION
The Brooks Model MT3809 armored rotameter provides a simple and accurate method to measure the flow and save money. The MT3809 covers a variety of liquid and gas process flows over a wide range of pressures. It comes in several materials and is available with a Tefzel lining to tackle even harsh environments. The 3809 is also available with a 4-30 mA transmitter that can be used as an input to a standard Process Loop Controller (PLC). The PLC can be configured to provide a 4-20 mA output that will drive a Brooks Model 5881/5882 Flomega liquid mass flow controller. The Flomega is the instrument of choice for precision low flow liquid delivery. Flomega's high accuracy and wide rangeability can eliminate wasted additive, and save plants thousands of dollars annually.
