FLIR i5 – A small infrared revolution from FLIR

The new i5 from FLIR Systems is the smallest, lightest and most affordable infrared camera on the market. It is incredibly easy to use and requires no former experience. The Flir i5 really is a matter of “point-shoot-detect” to obtain high-quality infrared images that will immediately give you the infrared information you need.

Infrared radiation (IR) is emitted by every object above a temperature of -273°C. The human eye cannot detect infrared radiation, but an infrared camera such as the Flir i5 can. The Flir i5 can take pictures of objects to show the amount of heat they are emitting. Such pictures consist of a map of colours that show surface temperatures of the object. The Flir i5 infrared camera is thus an invaluable diagnostic tool in a variety of industries, as it can detect abnormally hot or cold areas or components. In other words, you can detect problems that are not normally visible with the naked eye.

Key Performance Features

FLIR T-Series

The information below outlines the powerful features that contribute to the FLIR T-Series (including the building range) infrared cameras' world performance.

Up to 320 x 240 pixel resolution

The T-Series infrared image resolution ranges from 240 x 180 pixels to 320 x 240 pixels depending on camera model. The more pixels the better the resolution.

 

Camera sensitivity

The thermal sensitivity in the FLIR T-Series ranges from 80 mK (T250) to 50 mK (T425) depending on model. For the building varieties the camera sensitivity ranges from 70 mK (B250) to 50 mK (B425). With a better sensitivity (lower value) the camera can capture the finest image details even at low temperature differences. Better detector sensitivity is particularly important for building applications where temperature differences are typically lower.

High quality digital camera

All models in the FLIR T-Series have an integrated 3.1 Mpixel digital camera. This makes observing and inspecting faster and easier and is needed to create Thermal Fusion and Picture-in-Picture images.

MeterLinkTM

MeterLink displays and documents readings from your Extech moisture- or clamp meter directly on your infrared image using Bluetooth wireless connection. MeterLink, a FLIR industry-first technology, will: greatly improve your diagnostics, save time annotating readings, eliminate data errors, and add more customer value to your reports.

Panorama support (FLIR T250/T425)

Take images in a sequence and automatically combine them to one large image using the FLIR BuildIR SW. The images can be shot in vertical or horizontal direction or in a combination of the two. When taking the series of images, the camera will support you by displaying a grid and part of the previous taken image will be displayed. Now it is easy to align the camera so the next image roughly fits the pervious image. You just continue until you have covered the whole house. In the FLIR BuildIR SW you choose one image in a series and press “Combine”. A large image is automatically created.

Measurement range

Temperature measurement range 1 -20°C to +350°C, range 2 0°C to 650°C (optional up to 1200°C). The building models (B250/335/365/425) has a temperature range of -20°C to +120°C (optional up to 350°C)

Interchangeable infrared lenses

The T-Series features a standard 25° lens and optional 6°, 15°, 45° and 90° lenses.
